CoN Companion

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

CoN Companion is a Bible study, worship and devotional app for the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). This page explains what information the app and its server keep, why, and the choices you have. It is written by Communications Department of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) ("we").

You can use most of the app without an account

Reading, the Bible, hymns, collects and the other free parts need no account. You only need one to comment on lessons, to keep your profile, and to hold an Annual Pass.

What we keep if you create an account

What we keep about the app itself

What stays only on your phone

Your settings, bookmarks, notes, highlights, reading-plan progress, downloaded Bibles and hymn tunes, and saved orders of service are stored on your phone. We do not receive them.

Payments

Buying an Annual Pass happens through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They handle your payment details; we never see your card. To give you access, the app sends proof of the purchase to our server, and our server asks Apple or Google to confirm it.

Other services the app uses

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your account details for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your login, profile details, blocks and Annual Pass records are removed straight away. Comments you posted stay so that conversations still make sense, but they are changed to show "Deleted user" and are no longer linked to you. Server request logs are removed on a regular schedule.

Your choices

Children

The app is for a general audience of church members and is not aimed at children under 13. Please do not create an account for a child under 13.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, connections use HTTPS, and private server files are kept away from the public. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a password you do not use anywhere else.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, where it affects how your information is used, tell you in the app.
